Please join us on August 9 at the Pacific Grove Public Library (550 Central Ave, PG) for an extra-special opportunity: the Monterey Bay Poetry Consortium's very first open mic!
This one-time-only back-to-school special event welcomes all local poets to the mic for an evening of celebration and inspiration. No matter your age, ability, or identity, whether you've been featured for our series many times already or have never shared a poem in public before, everyone is welcome!
GUIDELINES:
• Arrive early for sign-ups (library doors will open at 5:15, reading will begin at 5:30)
• Prepare 1-3 original poems (<5 minutes per person, depending on turnout)
• This is an inclusive & family-friendly venue: please keep work appropriate, no hateful or explicit material permitted
• All ages & abilities welcome: simply bring enthusiasm & respect!
Please also come even if you don't have work to share: our readers deserve a large, supportive audience!
And for those folks who like routines and planning ahead, don't worry: our "regular schedule" of featured poets will resume in September, with a stellar Fall/Winter lineup featuring Avery Burns, Lee Knight Jr., Chrissy Hernandez, Brandi Kary, Pilar Graham, Carolyn Brigit Flynn, Maggie Paul, and more! Don't miss the second Saturday of each month from 5:30-6:30!
