This session will be falicitated by Martin Storey - Mermaids .
Professionals working with young people need the knowledge and confidence to create safe, inclusive environments. This session will help you understand what it means to be trans or gender diverse, learn key terminology including pronoun use, and recognise the challenges young people may face, from bullying and discrimination to mental health and family pressures. You’ll gain practical strategies for supporting trans and gender diverse young people in education, youth services, social care, or community settings, while also understanding your legal responsibilities under the Equality Act and how to respond to transphobia or hate incidents. The training equips you with actionable insights and resources to foster inclusion, improve wellbeing, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of the young people you support.
