Pub Choir: "Stand Up Coro"

Rather than presenting a traditional concert where people simply listen, this project turns the audience itself into the chorus — making every attendee an active participant in the music.

The format is built around the idea that “you are the show”: participants arrive at the event and, guided by the show’s leaders, learn and sing well-known songs together as a collective choir. Throughout the evening, there are moments of voice coaching, communal singing and joyful interaction, all designed to make the audience feel confident and connected.

The heart of the project lies in its two central facilitators: Alessandra Pascali, a choir director and singer with strong experience in nurturing voices of all levels, and Filippo Piva, a versatile guitarist and arranger who supports the group with live accompaniment. Their role isn’t to perform for you — it’s to help everyone present become a unified vocal group.

What makes Stand Up Coro special is its inclusive and social mission. No prior musical training is required, there are no auditions, and all voices are welcome. The emphasis is on community, participation, and shared musical joy — turning strangers into a chorus and a concert into a collective celebration.

For the first time, this uniquely Italian choral experience is being exported from Italy to the United Kingdom, offering a marvelous concert where people present on the day can sing together and become the stars of the show themselves.

Tickets and profits

Standard ticket prices for this event are £10, but it is also optionally possible to purchase a 'Supporter' ticket at £15 for those able and happy to do so, and a 'Supported' ticket for those with limited financial means.

All profits from this event subsidise costs of professional musicians participating in 2026 Oxford & Padua cultural exchange projects.
