The fight for a new mass party of the working class is on!
In one week, more than 700,000 people signed up to the yourparty.uk website to support Jeremy Corbyn and Zarah Sultanaโs initiative to build a new left party. This shows the huge potential that exists to build a genuine socialist alternative to Labour, Reform, and all the pro-establishment parties.
But for it to be truly democratic and working class, the trade unions need to play a leading role in it's development and programme to ensure it is firmly anti-austerity and based on the best traditions of our movement.
So, what can we do in Oxford and what does it mean for the labour movement and workers going forward? Come along to this meeting hosted by the Socialist Party to discuss and find out about the campaign.
Speaker includes Ian Hodson, president of the Bakers, Food, and Allied Workers Union, and Dave Nellist, socialist ex-MP and national chair of the Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition (TUSC).
