Delighted to be bringing Cheerbleederz back to town! The band are Kathryn, Phoebe and Sophie, three pals from London. They formed the band through a mutual appreciation for their other projects and the desire to write music in a collaborative, and unselfconscious space.
Already boasting a fine pedigree of lo-fi underground hits between their individual members’ various bands (Fresh, ME REX, Felicette, and Happy Accidents), with this project the trio have hit upon an instantly infectious brand of no-frills, melody-driven punk. Taking influence from the likes of The Breeders, Snail Mail, Hop Along, Alvvays, Charly Bliss and Cayetana, their songs touch thoughtfully on the lived experiences of women and marginalised people.
Support comes from two other supergroups: indie punks Felicette - featuring members of Cheerbleederz, Supermilk, Matagot, Painter and many more - and hyperpop punks Dream Phone - featuring members of Junk Whale, Basic Dicks, Spring Major, Worry and more!
This is a matinee show at Common Ground, which is wheelchair accessible, and will be an all ages show with under 14s needing to be accompanied by an adult. Will be a lovely afternoon!
