Butoh class on Saturday: Unconscious Poetics

This class will be led by Helen Edwards.

Unconscious poetics in butoh describes how dancers, through deep embodiment and focus, allow movements and expressions to emerge from their subconscious– like finding a sculptural form within stone or lucid dreaming while awake.

Helen will explore ways of delving into the poetics of the unconscious, through which we may discover a sculptural space in which we become danced by the body.
