A Chance to Shine

A Chance to Shine BHcare’s annual fundraiser brings together our community to raise critical funds and awareness for all our programs. A Chance to Shine will draw families from throughout BHcare’s 32-town service area as we raise funds for and awareness of BHcare. Our event kicks off with our Walk to Remember held in memory of Lori Jackson and all those who have lost their lives to domestic violence mental illness or addiction. We also walk in honor of the survivors who continue to persevere heal and thrive.

Following the walk is our free family fun day which includes a kids' bike parade led by Joe Furey from WTNH bounce houses touch-a-truck live music lawn games raffles and other pro-health activities. We’ll also have helicopter rides!

These inspiring events support BHcare's life-saving services for over 15000 children adults and families each year who are impacted by mental illness substance use domestic violence and other health-risk behaviors throughout the Greater New Haven area—from the Shoreline to the Valley.

A Chance to Shine is more than just a fundraiser—it's a day to celebrate hope healing and community fun! Join us for a kids’ bike parade inflatables touch-a-truck lawn games raffles live music by Fat Molasses and more. Bring the whole family and your four-legged friends for a day that truly makes a difference.

Proceeds benefit all BHcare programs including: The Umbrella Center for Domestic Violence Services Hope Family Justice Center Parent Child Resource Center Alliance for Prevention and Wellness and BHcare’s mental health and substance use services.

• Admission: Free admission to A Chance to Shine; for our Walk to Remember admission is $25 for adults $10 ages 5-18
