I’m excited to share that the City of Overland Park is scheduled to hold the final vote on June 2, but they’ve already given me the green light to send out invites! I’ve signed the paperwork and paid for the permit—so we’re officially set for the second annual Andy Dvorsky Memorial Car Wash Reunion!
This event is especially meaningful to a lot of us, as Andy was the one who truly encouraged me to create the Car Wash Reunion . We lost Andy just a week after our first reunion in May 2023, but his spirit and energy continue to inspire everything this event has become. I know that if he could see how it’s grown, it would absolutely bring a big smile to his face.
Event Info:
• When: First Saturday of every month, for the rest of the year
• Where: Parking lot west side of Marty Street, across from the Matt Ross Community Center
(From the car wash, just head south on Marty – it’s about a block down on the right-hand side, halfway between the car wash and the old Vickers station.)
Important Notes:
• Please do NOT park in the Matt Ross Community Center parking lot (on the east side of Marty).
• The City’s biggest request is that we be respectful neighbors to the Matt Ross community:
• No burnouts
• Pick up all trash before leaving
Let’s make sure we keep this event going strong by showing the city how responsible we can be.
I’ve personally paid for the permit that covers every first Saturday through the end of the year. If you’d like to chip in, feel free to toss me a few bucks when you see me. If more comes in than I spent, it’ll all go right back into the event.
