Hi everyone! Here's a Facebook event for Monday's meetup. Hope to see you there!
I am going to bring board games to play. Since the coffee shop will be closed, bring something to drink / eat.
Just a heads up—I'm autistic too and find group situations to be terrifying sometimes. I'm really into playing guitar, so that might be my focus. We're all responsible for making sure we have a good time! Feel free to bring something you enjoy, and let's support each other. We're all in this together! 🌟 #autisticpride
Here are some examples of things you can do. Feel free to add to the list:
- bring conversation note cards (I learned today these are a thing)
- google ridiculous conversation starter questions (this is surprisingly fun)
- play board games
- read books or magazines
- listen to music with headphones
- play music with an instrument
- draw (or do other non-messy crafts)
- do a puzzle
- do a special interest activity
- play with fidget toys
- explore the building
- bring a video game to play by yourself or with others
- play with your phone
What Time: 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM (Arrive whenever it suits you)
Where to Meet: Head to the Elgin Street Entrance, near Equator Coffee. Walk over to the information desk, then take a right. You'll spot the exhibit about the pianist Glenn Gould (and a grand piano). We'll be there or up the stairs from that location.
What to Expect: At our weekly meetups, we don’t have a set schedule. Previous meetups have included music sessions, board games, casual chats, and exploring various activities. You're welcome to engage in your preferred activities or socialize as much or as little as you'd like.
What to Bring: Feel free to bring your favourite board game, fidget toys, musical instruments, or anything you'd like to share with a group or enjoy independently.
Bring a Friend or Support Person: You're welcome to invite a friend or support person, whether they're autistic or not.
Age Requirement: Our group is open to those aged 18 and up See less
