About the event

A sociological perspective on theatre - gratis fagprogram under DIFF

Lecture with Thomas Ostermeier: A sociological perspective on theatre
Director and theatre leader Thomas Ostermeier comes to the Fosse Festival to give a lecture on theatre from a sociological perspective. Ostermeier will explore how theatre reflects the society it emerges from – as an institution, as a social practice, and as an artistic expression. Drawing on his many years of experience as artistic director of the Schaubühne in Berlin, he reflects on the role of theatre in addressing contemporary political and social challenges.

Schaubühne visits DIFF – the International Fosse Festival – with the performance Who Killed My Father by and with Édouard Louis, directed by Thomas Ostermeier.

This lecture is part of the professional program of DIFF. Admission is free, but you must reserve a ticket.

The lecture will be held in English.
