Spring Garden Tour of Philadelphia

Celebrate Spring Garden Tour: Join us on Thursday, April 24, 2025, for a tour of three public gardens in Philadelphia. Carpool from Jordan at 8:00 am, returning between 5:00 pm and 5:30 pm. Contact Kirk Brown for registration or more information.
Begin at Stoneleigh: a natural garden, exploring native plants and touring the mansion with its Aeolian-Skinner player organ. The grounds include a pool, tennis court, gazebo/arbor, and formal gardens across forty-two acres. Also, we'll visit Haverford College, America's oldest collegiate arboretum designed in 1834. It is home to a third generation of the famous Penn Treaty Elm under which Penn signed his treaty with the local Lenni Lenape tribes. The campus has a 19th century astronomical observator. The $25 fee covers admission and tours. The final stop is Jenkins Arboretum, featuring stunning Azalea displays just prior to being the host garden for the International Azalea Society’s spring conference.
