TWO DAY WORKSHOP August 23rd and 24th
Pierce, saw, file and finish your own sterling silver pendant! Participants will learn the foundational skills needed to craft two pendants, one copper and one silver.
Discover the art of piercing in this hands-on workshop! Students will learn the foundational techniques to create their own unique pendant in sterling silver. Piercing is the art of using a jeweler's saw to remove metal and create simple or intricate designs using negative space. Guided by an experienced metalsmith, you'll explore design transfer, saw frame and blade setup, and safe, effective cutting techniques. Whether you prefer bold geometric forms or delicate organic shapes, this class will give you the skills to bring your ideas to life.
After practicing skills in copper, each student will complete a finished pendant of their own design. They will have opportunities to add texture and detail, as well as learning simple finishing techniques to make their piece really shine. No prior experience is necessary—just bring your curiosity!
