Join us as the Tunnel to Towers 9/11 NEVER FORGET Mobile Exhibit makes its historic first-ever stop in Alabama! The East Alabama Regional Training Association (EARTA) is honored to bring this powerful tribute to Opelika, coinciding with the anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. This is a profound opportunity for our community to come together, remember, and ensure we #NeverForget the sacrifices made on September 11, 2001.
ABOUT THE EXHIBIT:
Step inside this extraordinary 83-foot tractor-trailer that transforms into an expansive 1,100-square-foot museum. The NEVER FORGET Mobile Exhibit offers a deeply moving experience, featuring:
Authentic Artifacts: See powerful relics from Ground Zero, including actual World Trade Center steel, pieces of the marble lobby floor, and aluminum facade.
Immersive Experience: Engage with videos, listen to actual 9/11 dispatch audio, and reflect on a poignant tribute to the brave first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice on 9/11, and those who have succumbed to 9/11-related illnesses since.
Witness to History: Tours are guided by retired New York City Firefighters and other first responders who were at Ground Zero, sharing their personal experiences and memories from that fateful day and the difficult weeks that followed.
Community Memorial: In addition to the mobile exhibit, a special memorial will be set up along the Southern Union walking track, honoring the 343 FDNY firefighters who lost their lives on 9/11.
This is more than an exhibit; it's a vital educational journey and a chance to pay respects to the heroes and victims of 9/11. Don't miss this rare and impactful event in Opelika!
