We welcome members from all of the following:

● K-12 Public and Private School Peer Tutoring Centers

● Post-Secondary Colleges and University Peer Tutoring Centers

● K-12 Writing and Peer Tutoring Center Directors

● Postsecondary Writing and Peer Tutoring Center Directors

● Peer Tutors: K-12 and Postsecondary

● School Administrators

2024-2025 Annual Memberships will expire June 30, 2025. All memberships are active for one academic year.

When a school becomes a member of SSWCA, all affiliated writing center tutors, director(s), and administrator(s) at the school will have access to:

The option to receive a discounted copy of our toolkit, The Toolkit: Writing Center Resources for Middle and High School

The opportunity to participate in our Digital Roundtable Series for free

The opportunity to attend SSWCA conferences and events for a discounted price

The opportunity to apply for registration waivers and travel grants to attend the SSWCA conference

The opportunity to apply for both tutors and directors to apply for scholarships and grants

Professional support and community

Advocacy for sustaining and building legitimacy of peer tutoring centers (liaisons, statistics, and student, teacher and administration testimonials – provided in the Resource Toolkit)

The opportunity to submit writing for publication on the SSWCA blog and the Journal of Peer Tutoring in Secondary Schools

The opportunity to run for an Executive Board position

Your membership fees cover: accounting assistance; fees required by the state or Federal government; website, newsletter, and mailing costs; operational fees; promotional materials; general materials and supplies; and possible grants for new or underfunded schools and/or tutors to attend SSWCA events.
