We believe that mental health should be treated equally to physical health — and just like physical first aid, Mental Health First Aid training should be kept up to date.

This course is for anyone who has completed the full MHFA England course in the last 3 years. If your last Mental Health First Aider or Mental Health Champion course is over 3 years old, you must take the respective full course in order to be certified.

If you are a Mental Health First Aider or MHFA Champion you have skills for life that support you and the people around you.

The four-hour MHFA Refresher course will empower you to:

• Keep your awareness of mental health support current
• Update your knowledge of mental health and what influences it
• Practice applying the Mental Health First Aid action plan

To help with engagement, we ask everyone to keep their cameras on during every session. If you do not wish to have your camera on, please let us know ahead of time so we know not to request you to turn it on during the session.

Due to some of the sensitive subjects of our courses, we limit numbers to 16 people. We want everyone to feel safe and our instructors can help if people find some bits particularly difficult.

Learning takes place through a mix of presentations, group discussions and workshop activities.

We provide a very safe learning environment and are trained to support you throughout the course. If you don't feel comfortable joining in certain bits, then don't, we won't make you do something you aren't comfortable with.

Online course in conducted over Zoom (video conferencing software).

Just like physical first aid, we recommend that Mental Health First Aiders and MHFA Champions attend a Refresher course every three years. If it's time to refresh your skills, book onto an MHFA Refresher course now and feel confident that you are performing your vital role safely.
