Olympia Timberland Library and Olympia Music History Project invite you to an evening honoring the 25-year legacy of The Transfused, a legendary rock opera exploring themes of queerness, gender diversity, disability, addiction, environmental destruction, corporate corruption, and resistance in ways that resonate even more today than when it was first written.
The evening will feature a screening of never-before-seen Transfused video, an ephemera show & tell, and a panel discussion with Rachel Carns, Freddy Havens, Nomy Lamm, Rosalinda Noriega, Radio Sloan, and Ed Varga. An extended participatory Q & A will follow. We encourage audience members who assisted or attended The Transfused to share their questions and insights.
The Transfused rock opera was performed in July 2000 at the Capitol Theater for 8 packed shows. Auditions and open calls resulted in a cast and crew of over 100 people from the Olympia music and arts community and beyond, with key actors and crew members moving to Olympia from Los Angeles, Minneapolis, and Athens, GA.
Masks are strongly encouraged at this event and will be available at the library front desk.
There will be a virtual option if you can't make it in person! Just register at this page to get the Zoom link:
