Meet at the Olympic National Forest HQ parking lot on Black Lake Blvd., 1835 Black Lake Blvd SW, Olympia, WA. We will begin assembling at 11:30 - 11:45 and try to shove off at noon. Please come with fuel tanks filled and tires properly inflated, bring water and snacks as needed, we will make rest stops and probably a lunch stop along the way.
The route does not include freeway, except a very short bit at the end crossing onto Hayden Island from Marine Drive. The roads we will use have speed limits of 50 mph or less, so a 150 should work fine if that's what you're rocking.
Google maps indicates 126 miles, which should be doable on one tank of fuel, but we can certainly make a fuel stop if it helps with everyone's comfort level, there will be plenty of opportunities. There is a Chevron station across the street from the hotel.
If you haven't been riding much, now would be a good time to start getting in some saddle time to build those calluses you'll want for hours of riding over the few days of the event.
I'm excited for the ride and the event, and want to help make it as enjoyable and anxiety-free as possible for those joining. Please let me know if you have questions or concerns, and I'll do my best to resolve them.
Cheers,
Bob/Scooter Curmudgeon
