LMTAAA Advisory Council

Lewis-Mason-Thurston Area Agency on Aging's eighteen-member Advisory Council provides input and advice to the Agency staff and makes funding and legislative recommendations to the Agency and the Agency's board.

Advisory Council meetings are open to the public, and you are encouraged to attend to learn more about the Council. Persons with a disability and who require accommodation should notify the Executive Assistant (360) 664-3162 x224 a minimum of one week in advance of the meeting to discuss accommodations. Every effort will be made to provide reasonable accommodations.

Six people from each county are appointed to a two-year term and can be re-appointed for up to three terms. Council members offer tremendous value to the Area Agency on Aging; in return, they will learn a great deal about our state's aging and long-term care system. Members are assigned to committees covering health promotion, small project support, and public information, among others.

LMTAAA seeks Council member volunteers with experience and personal interest in issues facing seniors and younger disabled adults in the community. The ability to participate and regularly attend monthly meetings is a consideration. Members are not paid, but automobile mileage is offered to offset the cost of attending meetings.
