5th Annual- Fish Hunt Northwest Kids Trout Derby at Summit Lake
This year is our 5th Annual Kids Trout Derby, Hosted by Fish Hunt Northwest at Summit Lake. It will be held once again at the Summit Lake Community Center.
Fish The Lake, Show Up At The Community Center For Awards, Free Food and a Good Time...
The Date for this year’s Event, will be Saturday May 17th.
Daylight start and participants must be In-Line for Weigh-In by 11:00am.
This Derby is for kids 14 years of age or under.
Every child participating in the derby will be given a free T-shirt and raffle ticket after they check-in and weigh-in their catch.
If they have no fish to weigh-in, that’s OK, stop by the registration table to get your T-shirt and Raffle Ticket.
This year once again, we have teamed up with Mission Outdoors who will be providing ALL food, for free, to include Breakfast and Lunch.
Puget Sound Anglers (Gig Harbor Chapter) will provide the kids trout pond and WDFW will stock the fish, to be located at the Community Center for kids 5 and under, if they choose to fish there. They will also win many prizes for their catch from the trout pond.
Bank Fishing is accessible at the boat launch, though space is limited.
Many people will show up with their own boats to get their kids out fishing.
This year once again, we also have the "Washington State Guides Association" on board to provide Professional Guides in Boats to take families and kids out fishing that may not have a boat.
