PLEASE NOTE: This clinic is being conducted for the screening of congenital or acquired heart disease in breeding stock only. No medical advice will be given to treat any suspected medical condition or to check the progression of a previously diagnosed condition.

Registration Deadline: July 30, 2025, or when all spaces are filled.
Echo Cost: $290.00 per dog prior to/on the registration deadline.

*NEW*
* Any person bringing a dog over 70 lbs. MUST have an assistant with them to help lift the dog onto & restrain the dog while on the cardiac table. All echo exams will take place on the table regardless of the size of the dog. If you show up to your appointment without an assistant, the exam will not take place. Please have a backup in case your original person is unable to make it. If you know in advance that your assistant is not available & you can’t find a replacement, please contact us to cancel the appointment. If you are unable to take your dog to the scheduled appointment due to any unexpected conflicts, please make sure the person bringing the dog for you has an assistant if the dog is over 70 lbs. or a dog that is difficult to restrain. Keep in mind that any assistant you choose will be privy of confidential information during your dog's exam.
* You no longer need to wear a mask at your appointment. However, if you feel unwell, please take a Covid test before coming to the appointment. If the result is negative & you still have symptoms, please inform us upon arrival for your appointment(s) as we will want all persons in the room to wear a mask. If the result is positive, please contact us immediately. Your appointment(s) will be cancelled & a refund will be processed as soon as possible. Any registration(s) received through DogShow.ca will be refunded but the fees to enter using their service would not be refunded. We will have sanitizer available for those wanting to santize their hands when coming into & upon leaving your appointment.
* Housekeeping - Please make sure your dog's nails are trimmed & ground to smooth out rough edges. This will help prevent injury to the cardiologist when he does assist in turning the dog on the table.
* Tips to help make the exam go more smoothly for the dog & those holding the dog:
- Please train your dog to lay on its side on a table.
- Teach your dog to accept being restrained.
- Train your dog to be on its back as it will be turned on the table while being on its back.
* Dr. Braz-Ruivo does not do echocardiogram exams on cats at his clinics.
* Should we need to cancel the clinic for any reason, a full refund would be given if you entered directly through the clinic. If you entered through DogShow.ca, you will be refunded but the fees to enter using their service would not be refunded.
* Upon arrival at the clinic, please stay away from the door until the cardiologist or organizer calls you into the exam room.
* Once your dog is off the table from its exam, please maintain a physical distance of 6 feet/2 meters while inside the building.
* Appointments will be scheduled once the AKC judging schedule is out. Please note that where there are two shows in a day for your breed, we will schedule your appointment around the Breed Specialty ring time only. We cannot guarantee that we will be able to avoid the AKC ring time for your breed on that same day.
