2025 is here and VHSANDCHILL OKC is resurrecting one of our classic screening series from days past - VHS GRINDHOUSE is back!
VHS GRINDHOUSE is a series of classic films that may or may not be the greatest films ever made! This VHS delights are pulled straight from the VHSANDCHILL OKC collection. Movies that DESERVE their day in court for the crimes committed TO them or BY them! These films will scream from the heavens the madness that is their message! We'll also have a fun giveaway!
When a simple astronomer named Zane Zaminski (lol) (Charlie Sheen) discovers a radio transmission that originated from space, he's fired and falls headfirst into an alien conspiracy with dark implications for the human race.
This 1996 release was absolutely annihilated in the box office. Not by a movie opening the same weekend. It couldn't compete with just the marking campaign of a little-known movie that released a month later titled - INDEPENDENCE DAY. Directed by David Twohy (Timescape, Pitch Black), and starring Charlie Sheen, Teri Polo, and Ron Silver, this movie suffered absolute defeat in the North American box office. Though, it still got a Windows '97 video game and a straight-to-DVD sequel. These were different times.
