Chakra Yoga Exploration: 7 Week Series with Moira Anderson
Looking for a relaxing yoga class for refreshment, support, self-awareness, and ease for your mind and body?
Take a weekly 1.5 hour yoga adventure, exploring postures, movement and stillness to balance the body and mind, reduce stress, and revitalize your constitution. You will learn about the subtle energy “wheels” known as chakras. The chakras function both energetically and as metaphors for exploring your relationship to yourself, the world and your connections with others. You will learn to understand how your body and thoughts may manifest imbalances, as well as simple ways to restore mental and emotional clarity and physical vitality. Classes include gentle movement, breath-work, meditation, music, sound, mantra, and deep relaxation with visualization.
Yoga practice is scientifically proven to reduce anxiety, and depression.
Each chakra yoga class will include a posture flow sequence, chakra-specific information, a mantra, a restorative visualization, and crystal sound bath. At every class you will receive a brief handout with a helpful overview related to that evening’s chakra.
The series meets on seven Tuesdays, 6pm- 7:30 pm

The series is approved for yoga teacher continuing education, through Yoga Alliance. Moira is a Yoga Alliance YACEP provider.
Moira Anderson, CYT, E-RYT 500, LCSW is owner and director of River Rock Yoga and Pilates and founder of The Mississippi Center for Yoga and Health in Ocean Springs, MS. She is a Professional Level Kripalu Yoga Teacher, teaching yoga full time since 2001
She has been training yoga teachers since 2007.
Moira received her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Southern Mississippi.
She has in-depth study and experience in Trauma Informed Yoga Therapy and has been using yoga therapeutically, in clinical psychiatric settings since 2010.
She is a licensed, clinical social worker and has practiced mental health therapy in her private practice, Maitri Mental Health, since 2019.
Moira's yoga classes offer students compassionate self-observation, mindfulness, gentle alignment, and reflective vinyasa flow. Her yoga practice is deeply rooted in her study of yoga philosophy, which cultivates compassion, calms the mind, and, thus, reduces the symptoms of trauma and stress by supporting the nervous system. This integral study supports her life and her teaching.
