Yawanawa Journey is honoured to host this incredible evening with the Yawanawa people of the Brazilian Amazon. Traveling from deep within the forest, they are coming to share their profound and beautiful music, chants, wisdom, and culture.
You are warmly invited to join us for an evening of connection, prayer, and song, a sacred gathering rooted in the teachings of the Yawanawa, who share their medicine through music, story, and ritual.
This is a rare opportunity to sit with Shawma and Keneihu Yawanawa, young leaders and carriers of their ancestral songs, and to experience the living spirit of the forest through their presence and prayer.
The Hapé Circle is a grounding and heart-opening prayer with sacred Amazonian plant medicine. Hapé (also known as rapé) is a finely ground tobacco snuff prepared with other sacred plants and blown through the nose to cleanse, center, and awaken the spirit.
During this evening, Shawma and Keneihu Yawanawa will share about the medicine of Hapé from their cultural perspective and offer story from the Yawanawa cosmovision, the spiritual worldview that guides their people and way of life.
We will then receive the medicine accompanied by music from Shawma and Keneihu, creating space to connect, celebrate life, and dance in prayer.
Participation in the Hapé circle is entirely optional. You are welcome to simply sit in presence and receive through the music and energy of the space.
• Wisdom sharing & storytelling from the Yawanawa culture
• An immersive evening of sacred songs and prayer
• Optional Hapé circle ceremony
• Water bottle
• Extra cash (there will be a craft table with handmade jewelry, art, and Hapé available for purchase)
