Skylar Tang, a 19-year-old trumpet virtuoso and innovative composer, was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. With electrifying performances at renowned venues like SFJAZZ, the Black Cat, and San Jose Jazz Fest—and international tours spanning the US, Europe, and South Africa with Carnegie Hall's National Youth Orchestra Jazz Band—Skylar is swiftly emerging as a global force in jazz. Currently refining her craft at Columbia University and the Juilliard Conservatory in New York, her award-winning artistry (including a standout 2022 Essentially Ellington accolade) resonates with audiences and critics alike.
As always, the set will be followed by an open mic sign-up, offering an opportunity for emerging talents to take the stage.
