An event celebrating Nottingham’s queer community by uncovering their untold stories. Join the Young Producers at City Arts for an evening of poetry, audio art and visual storytelling “exploring and mapping the queer contours of Nottingham”.
Murmurations is part of the Building an LGBTQIA+ Friendly Nottingham project, supported by the University of Nottingham’s Institute for Policy and Engagement in collaboration with City Arts, Nottingham Poetry Festival and Nottingham's Rainbow Heritage. It is presented as part of WORDPLAY, a series of events programmed by the Young Producer for Nottingham Poetry Festival.
The evening will feature an experiential installation artwork, followed by open mic performances of poetry and acoustic music. You’ll have a chance to get the first look at a new zine created by members of Nottingham’s queer community.

About the Building an LGBTQI+ Friendly Nottingham project
This project explores how LGBTQIA+ people experience life in Nottingham. It looks at how the city can better support them. Decisions often rely on data and top-down methods that overlook the voices of the LGBTQIA+ community. By amplifying “untold stories” through art and literature it aims to boost LGBTQIA+ people’s sense of belonging.
