This year marks the 10th annual Uniting for United Food Drive!
The event was launched in 2015 by local organizers Dan Spellman and Cassandra Giovanni with the goal of bringing businesses together to combat hunger in New London County. Since then, it has become a highly anticipated annual tradition. The food drive will support the Gemma E. Moran United Way/Labor Food Center, which provides food to over 23,500 individuals (about the seating capacity of Madison Square Garden) each month through its 65 partners and five monthly mobile food pantries.
Food collection runs May 2, 2025 to May 22, 2025. You can collect in person at your business or virtually using this link: Virtual Food Drive - just be sure to advise whoever donates to include “U4U & your business name” in the comments so we can properly credit and thank you.
On Friday, May 23, we’ll be collecting your donations at Surplus Unlimited in Norwich. We’ll also have a weigh-in and photo-op for you and your team. The business with the most donations will win this friendly competition! Once you register, you’ll receive additional details about the collection day.
We hope for our 10th anniversary we can work together to make this year’s food drive the biggest and best yet!
