Rag Roping with Simone Kottmann

Join our textile artist, Simone Kottmann, for a hands-on Rag Roping Workshop at The Fabric ReStore, where you’ll learn to transform unwanted textiles into beautiful, functional creations using the age-old technique of rag roping.

As part of her artist residency with A Fitting Connection, Simone shares her deep passion for texture, reuse, and slow-making. In this relaxed, beginner-friendly workshop, you’ll explore how to:

Create rope from fabric scraps
Use rag rope for coasters, baskets, mats, and more
Embrace imperfections and sustainability in your making
Simone brings her artistic insight and experimental energy to each session, guiding you through the process with care and creativity.
