The museum was initially a manor house constructed around the early 16th century, a period marked by significant architectural and cultural developments in England. The Great Hall, which is now known as the Oak Room, boasts remarkable oak panelling that dates back to the year 1500. Following a comprehensive restoration in 1994, the house was reopened to the public as a museum.

There is no onsite parking. There is free on street parking available on the roads surrounding Abington Park.

This location is not suitable for wheelchair users as there are two floors.

This is a dark location with uneven flooring, all attendees must bring a torch with them
Sensible shoes at all times, and warm and waterproof layered clothing is essential in cold weather
