Join us for an author talk with North Reading's own local author, Nancy Parsons on "Old Crow," her newest novel! Nancy will also be signing and selling books at this event.
About the book:
Crow is a nice man who is outliving his life.
A modest man, not given to putting on airs, Crow claims he never got out of high school. Four years at R.J. Converse High as a student and forty-three years there as a teacher of plane geometry. Time off in between for eight semesters at the state university in Bowling Green.
“Learned about Hammurabi’s Code and the Gadsden Purchase, learned how to dissect a frog and how to explicate a poem, but the only thing that made sense to me was plane geometry.”
This is a simple story about what can happen when we outlive most—or all—the people we care about. It’s about what happens when the only place to go is someplace we don’t want to be. And Crow just wants to go home. But circumstance has dictated that may not happen—circumstance being his declining health and the hospital social worker, physician, and pastor who have taken the decision from him.
