Manta & Ray Ecology Class (In-person or virtual)

When you think of a ray, what image comes to mind? Is it a southern stingray lurking beneath pearl-white sand, or a majestic spotted eagle ray gliding over a coral reef? Or perhaps the grandfather of them all—the giant manta ray—measuring six meters from fin tip to fin tip, soaring through the open ocean like an owl cutting through the evening air?

In this program, you’ll explore what makes a ray a ray, how they differ from sharks, and where they live. We’ll also cover what they eat, how to identify different species, and much more about these fascinating creatures. 🌊
