Children Praying for Children is an annual advocacy campaign launched by the Ukrainian National Women’s League of America (UNWLA) in 2024 to raise awareness about the illegal abduction of Ukrainian children from temporarily occupied territories by russian authorities.
Each weekend around June 1st — International Children’s Day — we invite local communities across the United States to come together in prayer for the thousands of Ukrainian children who have been forcibly removed from their homes, transferred to russia, placed in so-called “re-education” camps, or had their identities changed and put up for adoption.
Houston's UNWLA Branch 118 is proud to be hosting our second annual prayer gathering event at Pokrova Ukrainian Catholic Church on Sunday, June 1st at 1130am - 100pm CDT.
Order of Events:
11:30am - Gather at Event Registration table outside Pokrova Church
11:45am - Introduction & Mini-Presentation
12:00pm - Recitation of Prayer & Intentions, followed by Group Photo
12:30pm - Reception with Light Bites & Activities
**NOTE: if you would like to join the Sunday Divine Liturgy for the 1st or 1000th time, mass begins promptly at 10am. If you are joining us only for the Children's Prayer Event, we ask everyone to not enter the church until mass has finished.**
