Los Angeles Recorder Orchestra

The Los Angeles Recorder Orchestra returns to Emmanuel with a new musical program: “Something Borrowed, Something New.”

After several years Emmanuel Friends of Music are again hosting a concert by the Los Angeles Recorder Orchestra. Since the sudden death of its founder and director Tom Axworthy last year, Ricardo Beron is its acting conductor. Members of the congregation might remember Ricardo as one of the beloved teachers of the Emmanuel Recorder Kids.

Join LARO for a concert of beautiful Renaissance and Baroque music. We start with some lively Spanish music of Mateo Flecha followed by two of English composer John Dowland’s variations of the Lachrimae Pavan. Rounding out the concert are works by George Frideric Handel, and a Sonata by Tomaso Albinoni.
