About the event
Women in Wartime Book Club
Heroism takes many forms, but the bravery, grit, and ingenuity embodied by women in wartime receives too little attention, and often less formal acknowledgement. Bennington Museum’s Women in Wartime Book Club will examine the distinct aspects of women’ s experience during five different US wars, over the course of four gatherings at Pangaea Cafe in North Bennington. For one additional session, book club members will enjoy an after-hours tour of the Women in Wartime exhibit at Bennington Museum, led by Bennington Museum Collections Manager and exhibit curator, Callie Raspuzzi. The book club will gather on the third Thursday of each month, and we’ll read five works of fiction or memoir, dating from the Revolutionary War up through the Vietnam conflict. The group will welcome 16 members but spaces are filling quickly, so register today to secure your place! The deadline for registration is September 15th.
