The 3rd Annual Deborah Rubano Stehlik Memorial 5K will take place on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at Belmont Lake State Park, starting at 8 a.m. rain or shine.
Organized by Babylon CrossFit, where Ms. Stehlik was a devoted member, the event honors the legacy of Deborah Rubano Stehlik—a Bethpage High School alumna and beloved music educator in the Bethpage School District for more than 25 years.
All proceeds will fund a scholarship awarded to a graduating Bethpage High School senior planning to major in music or music education.
Ms. Stehlik, who passed away in June 2023, inspired generations of students at Kramer Lane Elementary, Central Boulevard Elementary, and Bethpage High School. Her passion for teaching and her enduring ties to the Bethpage community continue to resonate through this meaningful tribute.
The Bethpage community is encouraged to register and participate—whether by running, walking, or donating—as a way to celebrate Ms. Stehlik’s life and help support future musicians through the scholarship established in her name.
