NCom Film Club presents Marx Brothers Triple Features Month!
First, Hugo Hackenbush is a veterinarian who masquerades as a lead doctor at Standish Sanitarium to aid the wealthy patient Emily Upjohn. In order to save the financially failing sanitarium and its beautiful owner, Judy Standish, Hackenbush, employee Tony and jockey Stuffy must find ingenious ways to help Gil Stewart and his inept racehorse, Hi-Hat, win the big race.
Second, broadway producer Gordon Miller has sunk every dime into his latest project but still lacks the money to get the play out of rehearsals. While dodging hotel manager Gribble and his henchman, Wagner, over his unpaid bills, Gordon, director Harry Binelli and manager Faker Englund try to soothe the jangled nerves of their playwright and convince a wealthy backer to invest heavily in the show.
Third, the Marx Brothers work together to save a circus from closing. Circus owner Jeff needs $10,000 to pay off his business partner, John. In an effort to take over the circus himself, John allows his accomplices to steal the $10,000 from Jeff before he can pay. Loophole, a clumsy attorney who tries to help recover the money, enlists the help of wealthy Mrs. Dukesbury.
