Downtown Norfolk Council invites you to celebrate the close of Fiscal Year 2025 and reflect on the activities and accomplishments of the past year. As we have welcomed new staff and worked to bring new initiatives to the community, we hope you are as excited for our Next Act as we are.
This year we are thrilled to be honoring Deborah Thorpe with the Roy Badgely Distinguished Service Award. Deborah was instrumental in the formation of the Governor’s School for the Arts in 1984, chaired the dance department, and ultimately held the position of Assistant Director and Foundation Director. Outside GSA, Downtown has benefited from Deborah’s leadership and service through multiple boards and committees. Please join us to honor Deborah’s legacy of contributions to Downtown.
