Steve Sedergreen and his musical compatriots always deliver an enjoyable, world-class jazz performance. One of Melbourne’s most charismatic and well-known jazz pianists, Steve is renowned for his warm, authentic, and inviting style—extending to both the audience and his fellow musicians.
This time, Steve brings to The Count’s two great vocalists: Jackie Gaudion and Axle Whitehead.
Jackie Gaudion is a versatile and entertaining vocalist—whether she’s singin’ the blues, bringing to life a Billie Holiday classic or a well-known standard, or delivering a soulful serenade. From one of Melbourne’s beloved jazz families, Jackie’s stage presence is demure and classy, with a voice that builds from soulful, husky tones to striking intensity.
Axle Whitehead is an accomplished performer, TV presenter, and actor—but it’s music where his heart truly lies. Steve and Axle have played together numerous times over the years at iconic venues such as Bennett’s Lane, Dizzy’s, Bird’s Basement, and The Basement and LazyBones in Sydney. This will be a night that showcases Axle’s eclectic tastes, drawing from a range of musical styles. Expect jazz and funky tunes inspired by artists like Vince Jones and Kurt Elling.
With Ben Robertson on acoustic bass and Gerry Pantazis on drums, a world-class night of great jazz is assured.
Make a meal of it! The music gets underway at 7.30pm, but arrive a bit earlier if you can. From 6.30pm, enjoy pre-show dinner and drinks at The Count’s Italian-style kitchen and bar.
