Open Observatory at 1010 Taratsa.
The Moon will rise at 18:59 whilst the early penumbral eclipse stage is underway. This stage is hardly visible to
the unaided eye. At 19:28 the Moon begins to enter the Earth’
s shadow, signaling the start of the partial eclipse
stage.
At 20¨30 the Moon becomes completely covered by the Earth’
s shadow and shines with it’
s characteristic deep
red/brown color during the total eclipse stage. At 21:12 whilst the Moon is at 24 ˚ altitude in the eastern sky
totality occurs and the phenomenon reaches it’s maximum.
At 21:52 the Moon begins to exit the main part of the Earth’s shadow and approximately 1 hour later the
penumbral exit phase begins. The phenomenon ends on 23:55 with the Moon at 47 ˚ in the southeastern sky.
