About our mentor:

LaShunte Portrey is a career development and leadership coach with a decade of experience in workforce strategy, executive coaching, and inclusive talent development. Her work sits at the intersection of career mobility, systems change, and personal transformation—empowering professionals from underrepresented backgrounds to lead with clarity and confidence.

With lived experience in the foster care system of San Francisco and professional roots in both corporate and nonprofit spaces, LaShunte brings a uniquely empathetic and strategic lens to her coaching. She has supported talent programs at Fortune 100 companies including Microsoft, Amazon, and SAP, while also building bridges into the tech industry for early-career professionals, career switchers, and contract workers. Through roles spanning recruiting, career coaching, change management, and workforce readiness, LaShunte has developed expertise in designing scalable development programs, leading inclusive hiring strategies, and facilitating high-impact workshops for diverse audiences. As a speaker and coach, she partners with individuals, teams, and communities to navigate complexity, embrace their personal narratives, and drive meaningful career outcomes.

Now based in Tulsa through the Tulsa Remote program, LaShunte also partners with organizations like Oklahoma Women in Tech, Tulsa Remote, and InTulsa Talent. She continues to champion systems that center dignity, access, and agency, especially for those forging nontraditional paths to success.
