For adults. Moderately strenuous 2.5-mile, discussion-oriented hike featuring quotes by "Walden" author Henry David Thoreau.

About this Event

DON'T BE A "NO-SHOW!" If you are unable to attend this hike, please remember to cancel your ticket ASAP using the link in your confirmation email to allow someone else the opportunity to attend.

You agree when you sign up for this group or any of its events that you have read and understand the following: You are responsible to research the event, bring the proper gear (see "The Ten Essentials" below), carry a trail map and cell phone, and read the meeting directions. Do NOT rely on GPS.

DIRECTIONS: Meet in the parking lot at Twin Lakes, off Goodale Road. From Route 206, turn onto Goodale Rd and drive about 1/2-mile. Turn left into the fenced-in dirt parking lot.

2.5-mile moderate hike. Sturdy, ankle-supporting hiking boots and 2 hiking poles are recommended, as are "The Ten Essentials": https://www.outdoors.org/resources/amc-outdoors/gear/the-10-essentials-revisited/

Henry David Thoreau (July 12, 1817 – May 6, 1862) was an American naturalist, essayist, poet, and philosopher. A leading transcendentalist, he is best known for his book , a reflection upon simple living in natural surroundings, and his essay "Civil Disobedience", an argument in favor of citizen disobedience against an unjust state.
