Ridden Introduction to Endurance

This is a follow up to the classroom session held on 14th February although you can enter the ridden event without attending the earlier session. It is aimed at people who have yet to try an endurance ride or who have done one or two rides but would like some extra guidance.

The event will be free of charge.

You will be guided through the practices and procedures of an endurance ride and then undertake an 11Km ride.

Although this will be run as an endurance ride, there will be no mileage awarded, however there will be rosettes for those of you that successfully complete the route in the time allowed.

All horses must be registered with SERC via Clubhouse and must have an up-to-date influenza vaccination. The relevant pages of the horse passport showing the vaccination status needs to be uploaded onto Clubhouse. After signing in to Clubhouse, click on your name at top right and click my “equine vaccination records”. Click apply for certification and then chose equine influenza vaccination. Further instructions are then given about how to proceed.

Juniors are welcome but must be accompanied by an appropriate adult. If you would like experience as a helper in the company of experienced helpers, please sign up separately.
