About the event

Operation Fulcrum
Background:
The Republic of Velstova, a tense, post-Soviet nation situated between Chendeka and the embattled Kardivka, teeters on the edge of upheaval. Officially neutral but historically aligned with Russia, Velstova has quietly served as a vital transit point for Chendekan supply trains, military-grade fuel, arms, and intelligence flow through President-General Mikhail Radenko’s domain to bolster the offensive in Kardivka. Yet crippling Western sanctions and a stagnating economy have left Velstova’s populace simmering under Radenko’s iron fist: VSD surveillance permeates every neighborhood, brutal crackdowns are common, and factories lie shuttered across Durnagrad.

Amid this simmering discontent, a diverse opposition has organised into the Free Velstova Front (FVF). The FVF are made up of pro-democracy activists, dissident military officers, and Chendekan defectors united by a shared goal: seize Durnagrad, sever the supply lines that sustain Chendekan forces, and be a spark that could topple Radenko’s regime. Backed covertly by NATO, which views any destabilization of the Russian-Chendekan axis as a strategic boon, the FVF has stashed weapons caches in the forested outskirts and is quietly recruiting from disillusioned soldiers and urban youth. Their plans remain deliberately vague, but intelligence suggests they stand ready to launch a coordinated uprising once the right moment arises.

To preempt outright rebellion, the Velstovan National Assembly has scheduled a televised debate on Saturday, July 19th, in Durnagrad’s industrial district. Marketed as a “peaceful exercise in democracy,” the debate will pit hardliners who advocate deepening ties with Chendeka and Moscow against reformists pushing for a pivot toward NATO. Inside the main quarry, the heart and symbol of the Vestovan workers revolution, regime loyalists occupying one side of the debate table will go head to head with reformist supporters. Independent journalists, civilians on the fence and discreet NATO observers will eagerly watch on. Outside, graffiti and leaflets clash, “Future with NATO” defaced by “Loyal to Chendeka”, as dissidents slip into side streets, primed to act if the debate falters.

No one knows exactly when the FVF will strike, but many suspect that as soon as the debate concludes, if Radenko’s hardliners fail to convincingly sway the public, the city will erupt. Rumors whisper of sabotage teams ready to cripple telecom towers, plunging Durnagrad into darkness, while student and factory-worker militias lie in wait to seize the transport hub and halt outbound Chendekan supplies. Unbeknownst to most citizens, NATO’s Echo-9 Detachment has already hidden arms and rations within the industrial park, prepared to equip FVF cells the moment the uprising begins. Across the border, elite GRU “volunteers” disguised as humanitarian convoys shadow Velstovan supply routes, ready to reinforce Radenko’s forces at the first sign of revolt.

When the broadcast begins that single debate may prove the spark, or the alarm bell. If the FVF manages to wrest control of key infrastructure, NATO may be forced into overt intervention, collapsing Chendekan’s supply lines into Kardivka and shattering Radenko’s hold on power. But if loyalist forces swiftly quash the uprising, Velstova could harden into an even more impenetrable fortress for Chendekan ambition with dissenters silenced and NATO’s gamble exposed. In this precarious moment, a “peaceful” debate on July 19th could ignite a conflict that reshapes Eastern Europe.

NATO’s involvement in Velstova is a calculated gamble. While publicly denying direct interference, NATO's strategic command views the uprising as a golden opportunity to destabilize the Russian-Chendekan axis. By toppling Radenko’s regime or at least fragmenting it, NATO could collapse the northern supply lines into Kardivka — and possibly ignite a chain reaction across Moscow’s Eastern Bloc clients.

What to expect:
This is a 24 hour Military Simulation exercise.
There are a variety of different roles in this event which will include guerilla warfare, roleplay elements, as well as force on force engagements. Expect to conduct reconnaissance, patrols, checkpoints as well as coordinated assaults on enemy positions. Do not expect a skirmish style game with constant action. With this in mind please bring the right attitude to this event. Do not arrive expecting to go off task in search of a firefight, if this is your attitude then please do not book a ticket. We expect participants to follow the instructions from the chain of command to ensure a more realistic and enjoyable event for all involved.

Certain camping areas are considered patrol harbors, these are in game areas where eye protection must be worn at all times, including sleeping. Units in an “off game” campsite must have magazines out and guns on safe.
