Climate Fresk is an interactive, hands-on educational workshop designed to raise awareness and inspire action towards achieving Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 13: Climate Action. Based on the latest scientific reports from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), the workshop simplifies complex climate science into an engaging and accessible format.
What to expect:
Through a 3-hour collaborative, game-based approach, participants will work together to link 42 cards in a logical cause-and-effect sequence, creating a visual map of how climate change impacts planetary systems. This engaging process helps explore the critical challenges our society faces while identifying meaningful actions to address them.
The workshop follows the “Head, Heart, Hand” approach and consists of three phases:
Build Knowledge – Participants work in teams to map out the climate system, discovering how different factors are interconnected.
Connect Emotionally – In a supportive environment, participants reflect on their feelings and responses to climate change, addressing climate anxiety and fostering resilience.
Move into Action – Participants explore actionable solutions, both individually and collectively, focusing on creating real-world impact and empowering to take meaningful actions in their personal, community, and professional lives.
With over 6,000 participants in Australia and more than 2 million worldwide, Climate Fresk has proven to be an impactful tool for climate education. The workshop is accessible to all audiences, regardless of their prior knowledge - whether you are new to climate issues or looking to expand your understanding, Climate Fresk offers valuable insights for everyone.
The workshop lasts no less than 3 hours, so please ensure you can attend the full session commencing 6pm and concluding 9pm sharp.
