PLAYING LIVE:
Polevaulter
Established EW favourites, Polevaulter’s blend of blunt wit, convulsive force and mind-warping electronic noise has already won them fans across the country and into the continent. On the back of last year’s excellent debut album Hang Wave and a series of stunning live performances, Polevaulter return this summer with new material en route – we can’t wait to see what the next chapter of Polevaulter looks like, and we reckon plenty of you feel the same!
Holy Braille
A truly bewitching and mesmerising duo, Holy Braille’s distorted, gothic take on synth pop and house has to be experienced in the flesh to witness the true power of their charismatic and energetic work. Following a spellbinding set back in January’s fundraiser, we knew we had to get them back as soon as possible, and we’re delighted they were able to hop onto this goliath of a bill.
Lenz
The chance meeting on a dissecting table of Shellac and King Crimson, Lenz are a new entrant to the Newcastle circuit but feature a host of heavy-hitters currently/previously found in acts including Plague Rider, Live Burial and Shan. Boasting a freeform, all-encompassing take on noise rock that draws in punk snarling, prog chops and metallic power, don’t miss out on your chance to hear the new sound live.
Gaydar
Gaining a dedicated fanbase for their exuberant and defiant live shows, Gaydar’s fuzzy, assertive punk balances righteous fury with party-starting joy. Surreal and urgent, we can’t think of any better act to kickstart an EW Friday night!
Doors 19:00, 18+ entry (unless accompanied by parent/guardian).
