Upstate BMX League - Beginner Open House

Come out to Upstate BMX on Monday, August 18, 2025 for a FREE "give-it-a-try" open house, especially for new riders, to learn about and get some on-track experience in the sport of BMX Racing. The event runs 6:00PM to 7:30PM.

During the 90-minute event, your rider will get some basic instruction on BMX Racing and ride the track, under the supervision of our League coaches and volunteers. Parents will learn about how the League is structured, and have a no-pressure opportunity to sign up.

The Beginners-only Fall 2025 League season starts Monday, August 25 (6:00PM), and runs on the following schedule:

August 25 – 6:00PM to 8:30PM

September 3 – 6:00PM to 8:30PM <--(Shift to WEDNESDAY due to Labor Day)

September 8 – 6:00PM to 8:30PM

September 15 – 6:00PM to 8:30PM

September 22 – 6:00PM to 8:30PM

The Open House is the perfect opportunity to learn about the sport, and get in on an activity that is all-about fun, fitness and family. For more info on the League, or to enroll, visit:

The League and Open House are open to boys and girls 4-15 years, as well as moms, dads and grandparents of riders. A “Beginner” is someone who has never raced BMX.

Here’s a rundown of how the day will be structured:

For Riders

- Kids will enjoy a “roll-around” on the track, supervised by our league coach and on-track volunteers. This is an "appetizer portion" of the fun to be had in the League. Each League session also includes racing as part of the program.

For Parents

- Watch from the stands, or grab your bike, air up the tires and join the fun with your kids. When it comes time to sign up for the League, parents ride for $50-off the regular tuition.

- After a tour of the facility, we will give parents a briefing on how the League format works, and you'll have the opportunity to enroll on-site, if you so-choose.

For the Whole Family

What to Bring/What to Wear for Riders

- Long sleeves, jeans, closed-toe shoes with "grippy" sole

- A bike without pegs, kick stand, and/or chain guard.

- A helmet (must have factory-installed chin strap)

**IMPORTANT**

Riders must be able to ride a pedal bike without training wheels to participate. We offer a "Balance Bike" program for kids that are not-yet riding a pedal bike on some race nights, but it is not part of the League program.

Create one ticket per RIDER. Family members not riding do not need a ticket.
