What is CONTEMPT? Run entirely by volunteers from within the club community, Contempt! was fueled by a no-nonsense “For the scene, by the scene” ethos. With a few simple rules¬—no dress code, no guest list, no attitude, prioritize requests—Contempt! reshaped the landscape of the club scene to become one of New York City’s most influential goth/industrial events of all time. Contempt! hung up its boots in 2013 after a legendary 15-year run.
