Newark Arts Festival 2025 — Performing Arts Open Call Auditions

Are you a dancer, poet, musician, actor, or multidisciplinary performer? Newark Arts Festival invites you to an open call audition for our 2025 performance lineup! This year, we're celebrating JOY as a creative force—and we want to see how you bring that energy to life. 

What to Expect: 

• This is an open call—no advance time slots. Check in begins at 8:45 AM, and auditions are first come, first served. 
   

• Each performer will have up to 3 minutes to share their work. 
   

• We’ll see as many artists as time allows, but due to limited programming slots, not all auditioning artists may be selected. 
   

• Please come prepared and manage expectations—bring your best and let your JOY shine through. 

Important Notes: 

• Already auditioned last year or applied via Submittable? You do not need to attend the open call unless you’d like to share your work in person.

• We are also accepting performing arts applications via Submittable through June 1, 2025. Apply here.
   
   

This open call is your chance to join New Jersey’s largest celebration of arts and culture, happening October 8–12, 2025. Selected performers will be featured in official Newark Arts Festival programming and promoted across Newark Arts platforms. 

- All genres and performance styles welcome 
- Youth and adult artists encouraged to audition 
- Free and open to the public

Parking for Newark ArtSpace

Parking accessed area through Clay Street.

Retail parking is available from 7am-7pm and resident guest parking is from 7pm-7am with a complimentary three hour period. After that it’s $3 per hour for an extended stay.

Once parked you will need to scan the QR code indicated on the sign to register for a permit. Parking is first come, first serve.
