New York Rathayatra

The first Rath Yatra in New York City was held on July 18, 1976, by ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness). It involved three grand chariots carrying the deities Jagannath (a form of Krishna), Balabhadra, and Subhadra, and a procession from Central Park to Washington Square Park, where a free vegetarian feast was held.
