<ace of="" swords=""> is an original physical theatre solo, transmuted from Lydia’s recent succumbing to a male abuser’s manual strangulation, among a series of physical and verbal violences, as actor on actor, male on female, and Chinese American on Chinese in America.

Poetically mapping a journey of surviving in parts, <ace of="" swords=""> attempts to face evil — generational misogyny, toxic masculinity and male rage in this case — drawing on a sword without edge, a blade reflecting demons, and an enduring ace towards blossoming.

To our Grandmothers who have dreamed of us, mothers who taught their sons well, and daughters who are yet to come.
