Get Ready for the 4th Annual Mount Morris Park Community Improvement Association Stoop Sale: Over 60 Stoop Sales, Live Music, and Fun for All!

Upcycling Uptown Returns – Bigger, Better, and Ready to Inspire!

(New York, NY) May 14, 2025 – With more than 60 participating stoops expected for the fourth consecutive year, the Mount Morris Park Community Improvement Association (MMPCIA) is proud to announce the return of its popular Stoop Sale on Sunday, May 18, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Taking place in its catchment within the picturesque Mt. Morris Park Historic District, the MMPCIA signature event will span the blocks from 116th to 124th Street, between Madison Ave. and Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Blvd. This will be the most engaging installation to date, with the addition of various pop-up entertainment showcases from local artists and youth talent, including the Thurgood Marshall Academy Legacy Step Team from grades 6 and 7. By decluttering, the community is demonstrating its commitment, together, to ensure “waste not want not is a reality” by making available a bevy of treasures and unique finds for visitors and neighbors to purchase.

“We are delighted to bring the community together for what is anticipated to be our most remarkable Stoop Sale to date,” said Saundra Heath, MMPCIA President. “This event truly embodies the creativity and sustainability that define our neighborhood, and we look forward to discovering the exceptional items our neighbors will share.”

A creative example of upcycling and sustainable repurposing, neighbors that reside in the landmark historic district will once again provide visitors with a host of items for sale, from vintage clothing to children’s toys and everything in between. The event will be anchored by a community block party taking place 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., on Lenox Avenue, with live DJ music from Dj Show N Tell ( https://www.instagram.com/djshowntell/) and raffle drawings for a chance to win prize packages of swag and services from local businesses valued at more than $600. To further connect this event to the mission and goals of MMPCIA, 5% of all stoop sales and all proceeds from raffle sales, which are $5 per ticket, will benefit the organization and its work to help sustain its programming that includes youth scholarships, park and street beautification and local economic development.

Residents in the Mt. Morris Park catchment area can register their stoop or table sale, through Sunday, May 4 at https://www.mmpcia.org/event/stoopsale2025/ May 10. The Stoop Sale cannot be successful without its volunteers. Sign up for volunteer opportunities by going to https://www.mmpcia.org/2025-stoop-sale-volunteer-registration-form/.
